FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(FAQs)

Q: Is it normal for my tattoo to peel?

A: Absolutely. Peeling after 4 to 5 days is a normal part of the healing process, similar to the skin's natural way of regenerating. It's crucial, however, not to pick at the peeling skin to avoid damaging the newly formed layers underneath

Q: How often should I wash my tattoo?

A: Gently cleanse your tattoo 2 to 3 times daily using a mild, fragrance-free soap. Over-washing can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness.

Q: How often should I moisturize my tattoo?

A: Moisturizing 2 to 3 times a day is ideal. Remember, the goal is to keep the tattoo hydrated without over-moisturizing, as this can suffocate the skin and affect the healing.

Q: â€‹How long does it take for a tattoo to fully heal?

A: Tattoos typically take 2 to 5 months to fully settle into the skin and heal. The outer layer may heal within a few weeks, but the deeper layers take longer.

Q: How much will my tattoo cost?

A: Prices vary based on the design's complexity, size, and color usage. A consultation will provide a more accurate estimate tailored to your specific piece.

Q: What's the minimum age for getting a tattoo?

A: You must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo without parental consent. With consent, the minimum age is 16, and a parent or legal guardian must be present during the process, providing valid ID and signing on your behalf.

Q: Can I get tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: We advise against tattoos during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for personal advice before scheduling an appointment.

Q: Should I get a tattoo if I'm feeling unwell?

A: Getting a tattoo when your immune system is not functioning at 100% is not the best idea. You’re going to need strength and optimum health to heal your tattoo, something your body will not be able to do if it is already battling against a virus.

It is also not suggested to risk passing the germ onto other clients or artists. If you are feeling sick please reschedule your appointment.

Q: Do you do cover-ups?

A: Cover-ups depend on several factors. Please email a photo of your existing tattoo and your ideas for the new design. I'll assess the feasibility and may suggest adjustments or multiple sessions for optimal results.

Q: Can I shave or wax after getting a tattoo?

A: It is best to wait until your tattoo has completely healed before shaving or waxing the area.

Shaving or waxing over scabbing, flaking, peeling and or dry skin can be dangerous and harmful to the healing of your tattoo.

Q: Is swimming safe after getting a tattoo?

A: Avoid submerging your new tattoo in any body of water until fully healed to prevent infection and ensure proper healing.

Q: Can I use the gym or Sauna after a tattoo?

A: It's best to avoid the gym for at least 24 hours and saunas or steam rooms for 3 weeks post-tattoo to allow the skin to heal without excess moisture or friction.

Q: â€‹When is it inadvisable to get a tattoo?

A: Avoid getting a tattoo if you're under the influence, pregnant, immediately before or after surgery, unsure about your design choice, financially unprepared, sunburned, accompanied by young children, or feeling pressured into it.

Q: Can I get a tattoo if I'm on antibiotics?

A: Antibiotics can affect the healing process and the appearance of your tattoo. Consult your doctor, but ideally, avoid antibiotics 30 days before and after getting inked if possible.
